Thai Farmer Life and Spirit Learning Center (Mr. Chai’s Farm)

The learning center cum museum shows the way of life in farming communities and farming equipment from the old days to capture visitors’ awareness on the value of rice cultivation in a deeper perspective.

This interesting place was founded by Mr. Nitas Charoendhammaraksa, son of Mr. Chai whom the farm is named after. In 1997, Mr Nitas who had helped his father run rice paddy trade since finishing high school finally decided to turn to trade rice seeds. He then developed proper rice seed production system and eventually established this learning center to share the knowledge and resources with those interested in learning about rice and farmers’ way of life in the past. This private museum is a bequest of his duty in life to repay the country.

The museum comprises several traditional Thai style houses, each displaying different themes such as Exhibit in Honor of the Kings, Mae Posop - the Goddess of Rice, Traditional Rice Barn, Rice Farm Demonstration Plot, Thai Farmers’ Way of Life in the Past, Rice Library, Farmer Alert Tower, Traditional Grocery Shop and Food and Souvenir Shop etc.
